Dancing with the Shuswap Stars was initially conceived as a fundraiser for the Larch Hills Nordic Society chalet expansion. The first annual event was held in 2016 and was a smashing success. Plans were quickly made for a sequel the following year. Demand for tickets in 2017 was so high that tickets sold out the day they were made available!

In 2018, with the chalet expansion well underway, the decision was made to partner with the Shuswap Hospice Society. All profits from the event will be split between LHNS and the Shuswap Hospice Society.

In 2019, the Shuswap Hospice Society took over full control of the event with the help of several community organizations.
