Ed and Natalie Parent-Judges
Guest Judges
Ed and Natalie are enthusiastic supporters of the Salmon Arm Community and Shuswap Hospice. They danced in the 2021 event and generated significant donations for Hospice. This year they are back to share their newly acquired dance knowledge as Guest Judges for the 2022 Dancing with the Shuswap Stars.
Ed is the owner of Ed’s World of Critters and Supplies, the only locally owned and operated pet store in Salmon Arm. Natalie works in Special Education for School District 83. They have two boys Nick and Brandon and a beloved Aussie Doodle called Murphy.
Both Ed and Natalie enjoy mountain biking, skiing and the outdoor life of the Shuswap.
Carolyn Wonacott-Judge
Carolyn is the Dancing with the Shuswap Stars resident dance expert. The
exploration of dance has been her passion and profession for most of her adult life. She has lived and worked in Toronto, Ottawa, Calgary, California and Mexico and has always been busy with either performing or teaching dance, especially ballet. Many young Shuswap Dancers got their training from
Carolyn at Shuswap Dance Center. Carolyn’s keen eye for technique and her outspoken nature gives our audience some insight into the challenge and the rewards of a good dance performance.
David Izik-Dzurko-Judge
Well known for his razor-sharp wit, long-time Dancing with the Stars judge David is a
crowd-pleasing favourite as he critiques the performances. But David is more than just a few words, his musicality is second-to-none after spending years as a music teacher with School District 83. Music, dance and performance are in the genes of the Izik-Dzurko family. David has performed in choirs,
concert bands, operas, rock bands and as an Elvis impersonator, while his son Jaeden is an internationally renowned, award winning concert pianist, and his daughter is a long-time ballet dancer.
We can’t wait to hear what he will think of this year’s performances.
Jared King-MC
Jared was a previous dancer, then returned as MC and did such and amazing job we couldn’t think of anyone else we’d want to take the mic for the 2022 event. As Principal of South Canoe School, Jared has had many opportunities to refine his skills with audiences from kindergarteners to adults. Jared has lived in Salmon Arm for more than a decade and has been involved in his community with athletics and the pursuits of his children. He may have been the runner up at a previous dance competition, but he’s number one in our hearts for guiding us through the evening’s festivities!
