Meet Tim & Dawn Alstad

Tim and Dawn Alstad have spent decades serving the Shuswap community, making them a perfect fit for Dancing with the Shuswap Stars. Together for 31 years, they have built their lives around family, community, and helping others.

Both are long-time volunteers with the Salmon Arm Rescue Unit, contributing a combined 74 years of service responding to emergencies. Tim also served 35 years as a BC Ambulance paramedic, while Dawn is a former RCMP Auxiliary Constable and a founding member of the She Shoe Swap charity.

Professionally, Tim and Dawn work together at Lakeside Fasteners, where they continue to bring their strong work ethic, teamwork, and commitment to serving others.

When not volunteering, they enjoy camping, e-biking, walking their German Shepherd, and spending time with their children, Hilary and Liam.

Although neither claims to be a dancer, they are embracing this challenge with enthusiasm and heart. They hope to raise meaningful support for the Shuswap Hospice Society and inspire others. As they say, “If we can make a difference, every step will be worth it.”
