Meet the SAS Grads ’98 Team,
Friendship, fun, and a willingness to embrace new challenges—that’s what brings the SAS Grads ’98 team to Dancing with the Shuswap Stars. Elisabeth Gordon, Leona Demer, Amy Derksen, and Emily Bostrom have reunited nearly three decades after graduating from Salmon Arm Secondary, proving that great friendships only grow stronger with time.
While their careers, families, and interests have taken them in different directions—from retail and counselling to raising children and enjoying everything from hiking and gardening to line dancing, Highland dancing, and hip hop; they share a passion for community and making the most of life. Together, they hope to inspire others by showing that it’s never too late to step outside your comfort zone, try something new, and have a lot of fun along the way.
For several team members, supporting the Shuswap Hospice Society is deeply personal. Giving back to an organization that provides compassion and comfort during life’s most difficult moments makes every rehearsal worthwhile.
Their dance may bring plenty of laughs, but their purpose is serious: raising funds, celebrating friendship, and making a meaningful difference for families in the Shuswap.
