Meet the Larch Hills Ski Club Team,
The Larch Hills Ski Club team brings together multiple generations of volunteers, athletes, and community builders united by a love of the outdoors and a passion for giving back.
For decades, members of this team have dedicated countless hours to the Larch Hills Nordic Society; organizing events, coaching, volunteering, grooming trails, racing, and helping create one of the Shuswap’s most treasured recreational spaces. Their connection to Dancing with the Shuswap Stars runs just as deep. Val and Barb Heckrodt helped launch the event in its early years, helping establish a fundraising tradition that has now raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for local charities and, today, the Shuswap Hospice Society.
Joining them are Kari Wilkinson, Madeline Wilkie, Etoile Brown, and Katie Ritchie. They are community leaders, business owners, lifelong skiers, and the next generation of Nordic athletes, all bringing their own enthusiasm, creativity, and adventurous spirit to the dance floor.
Whether they’re setting ski tracks, volunteering at races, singing in choirs, or encouraging teammates on and off the trails, this group knows the power of community. Now they’re swapping skis for dancing shoes to support the compassionate care Hospice provides, proving that teamwork, generosity, and a willingness to embrace new challenges can make a lasting difference.
