Michael Hall

Michael has lived in the Shuswap for 25 years, and now he’s known by practically everyone in town thanks to his distinctive dreadlocks and the starring role in the Rust Valley Restorers television show.  Clearly old cars are a passion for Mike, not to mention his other source of employment, which is blowing things up as an explosive expert. We know he’s going to bring that explosive energy to the dance floor in support of Shuswap Hospice— even though his usual behaviour at a dancing event is to watch others, rather than take to the floor. But Mike is here because he believes in the work of hospice, having had friends who needed that service.

Instructor Heather Stranks

As co-owner of City Dance, Heather has been involved with this event since it’s inception. She is happy to be able to help raise funds for the Larch Hills Chalet and Shuswap Hospice as well as helping to bring dance to the forefront in the Shuswap. In addition to her dance career, Heather has been a figure skating coach in the Okanagan for over 35 years. Some of her dance and choreographic work include performances with Big Apple Productions and the Vernon Glee Club. She has participated in dance seminars and competitions in Vancouver, Seattle, Calgary, Portland, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Mexico. When not dancing or skating Heather enjoys spending time with her family and skiing. She hopes you thoroughly enjoy this year’s Dancing with the Shuswap Stars.
