It really is all in the family for Dancing with the Shuswap Stars’ first-ever trio, but it’s not the
first time the family’s been stars. Auldin is a five-time Guiness World Record Holder in stacking
Jenga blocks. The story of Auldin’s accomplishments and his experiences on the Autism
spectrum inspired a recent Hallmark movie he also had a role in!
Auldin, a Grade 12 student at Salmon Arm Secondary, is joined on the dance floor by his
mom, Kelly and his stepdad, David. While Auldin has had some time in the spotlight, it will be a
bit different for his parents. David, the Chief Human Resources Officer for the Gorman Group
(who operate Canoe Forest Products), has done some public speaking, but never public
dancing!
Kelly, who has fibromyalgia and struggles with panic disorder, recently pushed past her comfort
zone by performing with an adult hip hop group on stage from Shuswap Dance Center (without
prior dance training). She’s hoping this experience will help her achieve her Dancing with the
Shuswap Stars ambitions and benefit this worthy cause.
